Aisha previously asked,

"Hi,

My desktop was completely empty with no icons but after I somehow dragged the desktop folder from the sidebar it won't let me delete it from the desktop without deleting it from the sidebar too. "

I have the exact opposite situation; my Mac's desktop is completely free of the clutter of folders and screen grabs, yet there's a neat little Desktop folder sitting in my Finder side menu. I don't know how it happened, but I'm glad it did. However, just in case this is a symptom of something worse to come, is there a way to restore the contents of this Desktop folder to my Mac's visible desktop?

You almost certainly activated "Documents & Desktop in iCloud".

This means that your Desktop and Documents folders are now stored in your iCloud Drive.

Click on iCloud Drive on a Finder window Sidebar and check if there are folders "Documents" and "Desktop" there.
