It looks like the zoom functionality is disabled in the News app on Mac -- and it pretty much makes reading magazines impossible. The usual keyboard shortcuts don't work either.
It also looks like there are a bunch of old questions saying the same thing with no resolution. Does anyone have a workaround?
On a side note, it doesn't look like News is available as a topic in these forums, so I just picked something else.
MacBook Pro (2020 and later)
Magazines in Apple News are either optimized articles for News app or plain PDFs. The former format is zoomable (through ⌘+ and ⌘- shortcuts). The latter, unfortunately, not.
If you own an iPad, I suggest to read the PDF magazines on it where you can pinch or double tap to zoom the content.
