USB Super Drive problem should be made clear

After days of frustration have finally discovered that an Apple USB SuperDrive will not work with a new iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021) if you're using a powered USB hub (I was using a UGreen 4-Port USB 3.0). I swapped that for a simple Anker USB-C to USB 3.1 Adapter and it worked perfectly. Shouldn't this be made clear to stop problems like this occurring?

This is not a problem in Apple's eyes. The drive is designed to be attached directly to the iMac itself so it can draw design basis power. The problem is some hubs are insufficient for the Superdrive, not that the Superdrive has bad or useless power needs.
