cannot turn off "silence when locked"

Do Not Disturb is OFF, but "silence" has only two choices, "always" and "when locked," and I am missing important calls. Where is the "never" button?

This just happened this week. It was fine before. I don't remember changing anything.

There has never been a "never" button. When you turn off DND, neither of those options are in effect. In other words, turning off DND is your "never" button.

Some possible reasons you might be missing calls:

  • You have the mute switch engaged. It's the slider just above the volume buttons.
  • You have your ringer volume turned down.
  • You have Settings>Phone>Silence Unknown Callers enabled.
