Homepods don't play music after watching Apple TV ( audio Homepods )

Hi

After updating all my devices too 15 I have a problem with my HomePods.

We watch TV with Apple TV, the audio connectie with Homepods.

When we stop watching Apple TV and ask Siri on Homepods to play music, Siri respons with “sorry there was a problem with Apple Music"

When I change setting in Apple TV too the TV speakers, the HomePods have no playing music.

But this is not what I want offcourse.

I tried these steps:

Reboot your wifi

On the Apple TV in settings - Users Accounts- your name - iCloud- sign out.

Change the default audio to tv speakers

Restart Apple TV

then sign back in.

Set up AirPlay & HomeKit again on the ATV

Change the default audio back to HomePods

No result

And other ideas or is it maybe a bug in TVOS 15?

Thanks in Advance

Harrie

Is this happening every time you’ve watch Apple TV? Put Apple TV to sleep when finished using to see if that helps. Sometimes this is an isolated occurrence in HomePods and can often be fixed by just unplugging homepods for a few seconds and if needed reboot the wifi. The advice you tried was what I wrote out to troubleshoot HomePods not working with Apple TV 4K theatre sound.

Further troubleshooting for this issue:

Restart HomePods:

Open the Home App - Long press on the HomePod icon ( or paired set) to bring up settings, scroll down to the gear icon, tap that, scroll to the bottom to Reset HomePod - then select Restart HomePod

I also have the “problem with Apple Music…” I have HomePods as default for the ATV. After watching something, my HomePods won’t play music unless I turn on the tv and AppleTV and go to music there. Start to play something, then I power everything down. Now the HomePods work as thy did before. Siri works, control music from my iPad, etc.

live tried resetting all and unplugging all. Still the disconnect. The only thing I’ve found that works is opening music on AppleTV.

Hi Vancouver 22

Thanks for your responds.

Your answer worked..... for one day. Next day the problem was back. I tested it for a few day. Each day the same. It worked for the same day bud next day, Siri respons with “sorry there was a problem with Apple Music".

At least it is not random......

There is also an other constant issue. Switching between the audio output is correct when I use the switch in "Home / Apple TV / switch". All the other audio switches ( Apple-TV menu, "side screen menu") are working "random".

But we are all most there............😃

Greetings

You are right. Everyday I turn on the tv/AppleTV/music the start playing music for the day. Then I turn off the tv. After that I can control music through my iPad, apple watch, iphone, Siri Voice commands.

I think it is the AppleTV update. Even music on AppleTV glitches at first.

I think if I deselect HomePods as the default audio, they will work normally. But for now I expect to do the reset through tv/AppleTV very day. It is quicker than a restart.
