My MacBook Pro will not accept the security update 2020-006. Each time I think the update has completed, the reminder that there is an update waiting pops up. What can I do to download this security update?
You haven't told which OS you are running, that might help in identifying which 2020-006 Security Update you are talking about.
Years of being on these communities has taught me that just because someone is posting in a particular OS community is no
guarantee that is the OS they are on.
Have you tried to download it via Apple Support Downloads.
There were two 2020-006 Security Updates one for macOS High Sierra and one for macOS Mojave.
Click on the two links below,

Download the one for the OS you are running, once downloaded double-click to install.
