I have a 2011 Mac Book pro OS High Sierra and also use an iMac. I want to uninstall and re-install High Sierra on the MacBook as a few issues that it might (or might not) fix. when I alter or add anything on my MacBook it automatically changes it on my I Mac too via iCloud. My worry is that if I uninstall High Sierra will it wipe my folders and files from, not only my MacBook, but also my iMac?

I have of course a back up made for both but would rather not have to use it on the iMac if the folders and files will remain on it after I uninstall the OS from the MAcBook.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

The two Macs are synced ( signed in with same Apple ID and password ) on the same network the iCloud Drive and desktops and documents box is turned on Use iCloud Drive to store documents on your Mac and iOS devices - Apple Support in both , if you delete file / personal documents from one Mac they will be deleted and placed in recently deleted , you can erase them permanently Permanently remove deleted files on iCloud.com - Apple Support

Delete files and folders on Mac - Apple Support

When new Mac OS is installed and same Apple ID and password with same account credentials are signed in the old files / personal documents won't sync as they are erased previously from the server , however for security reasons you had already saved them on external device connected to Mac Connect and use other storage devices with Mac - Apple Support

You can also archive the iCloud data on iMac https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204055
