sync ipod touch with macBook Monterey 12.0.1

I have had to create a new Admin login on my MacBook Pro. I went to my Music App on the MacBook and realised that none of my music is there but it is on my iPod touch version 12.5.5.

When I try and sync FROM the iPod TO the Music app on my MacBook via USB the option isn't there. It will only let me sync from the laptop to the iPod, therefore destroying my library.

I can't seem to find where the music is stored on iCloud either to be able to download it that way.

What am I doing wrong?

EmmaRogers,

Thanks for the updated information. It is not possible to sync content from your iPod, onto your Mac, only to sync content from your Mac to your iPod. In regards to your Apple Music content, is Sync Library enabled on your Mac and iPod as outlined in the article that was previously provided? If so, review the guidance found here next:

If songs are missing from your music library after you turn on Sync Library

Cheers.

Hi

I have subscribed to Apple One Premium and tried to upload the songs from my iPod to my Mac in the Music app by going File - library - Update iCloud library but it doesn't upload all my songs to iCloud, or if it does, it won't download them to Music on my Mac.

The best I can do is download all my purchases, but that's by no means all of the music on my iPod!

How come I can plug in the iPod and see the songs but I can't just download them?

This is the sync screen I have. I'm sure there used to be an option to sync from the iPod to the Mac, not just in the one direction?

Help!!

Hi

Thanks for the information. There must be some way of backing up the iPod music so that I don't lose it though? What do I do when I want to upgrade my iPod? I thought all of my music was on the iCloud (it was previously) so when my previous login got corrupted and I couldn't use it at all, I assumed it would just download from the iCloud again. Now all I have is the music still on my iPod Touch. Is there no way of downloading it??
