Pressing almost any key on keyboard brings up shortcut menus

I press any key on my keyboard, e, d, delete, h, and I can’t get them to work, instead a small window pops up like emojis for e or removing all my windows for h…I’m not using an app, it happens not long after startup when I am just on safari. What is this awful feature ! How do I fix ? On Max OS Monterey.

This is not a feature of macOS. Something is wrong in your setup.

It is maybe a problem with the keyboard itself or, more likely, a software issue.

Check to see if the problem also occurs:

a) In Safe Mode

b) booted normally, and logged in to a new user account

and let us know.
