Transferring information from old mini to new mini with one keyboard

I am getting a new Mac mini and planning to use my existing keyboard and mouse. Can I simultaneously connect the keyboard and mouse to both the old and new computers to transfer my information to the new computer?

No, you cannot simultaneously connect a single keyboard and mouse to multiple computers.

The best thing to do will be to also buy an external drive and use that to backup your old Mac with Time Machine, then use that backup to restore your user accounts and data to the new Mac.

No your wireless keyboard and mouse can only be paired with one computer at a time.

To Migrate Mac to Mac you will need to dig out, barrow or buy an expensive USB keyboard and mouse to use with one of the Mac's. Plus migrating over your local wireless network is slow, prone to failure and not recommended.

A better option, is to move the keyboard, mouse and your Time Machine backup drive to the new Mac Mini. Then Migrate from the Time Machine backup drive during the new Mac Mini setup.
