My iTunes movies will not launch on my 4th gen Apple TV without first restarting it. The app will first act like it’s loading but then goes black. I know you can access movies through the Apple TV app, but the iTunes movies app is much easier to find movies and special deals on movies.
Any help in fixing this issue would be appreciated.

Restarting the device without quitting the app will retain app properties same as active in the background or as in sleep mode, possibly including what is causing your issue. As this issue is not widespread, the cause is local to your setup and software anomalies.
If the issue persists after trying the above, then consider doing a fresh start by resetting. Reset or restore your Apple TV to its factory settings - Apple Support
Try this for any misbehaving pre-installed app:
I stated that it will launch after restarting the Apple TV. What I’m trying to solve is not having to do that every time I want to launch the movie app.
