I have a new Sony 4K OLED TV, with an Onkyo AVR that is capable of Dolby Vision HDR throughput. How can I tell if I’m actually seeing Dolby Vision on my TV or just HDR?
Seems to me, a couple years ago, You actually chose Dolby Vision under the video settings of the Apple TV; under tvOS 15 I don’t see that option anymore. Am I missing something?

On my Sony TV there’s an Info button on the remote. If I select it while watching a movie it will indicate Dolby Vision is active. You should not set your Apple TV to Dolby Vision but rather set Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate to ‘on’. That way the Apple TV will output Dolby Vision when the movie contains it. Set your Apple TV default to 4K 60HZ (or 50Hz if you are in Europe).
