How do I download an older version of Numbers for my osx High Sierra?

My desktop (OSX 10.13) has Pages but not Numbers. How can I get a version of the application that is compatible with my computer?

You might be able to go to your list of purchased apps and download it there. Maybe.

In the App Store app, click on your name to see your list of purchased apps.

I really wish Apple would naturally serve up older versions of apps for those who have older hardware or OS versions.

Sounds like a reason to "Provide ??? Feedback" directly to Apple, where the ??? is replaced by the application you want to update or the most recent OS supported by your computer.
