how do i update my 12.5.5 iphone to 14.0 iOS?

I can't download apps recently because they say I need 14.0. How do i update to it? My phone has auto update, but it is not updating to 14.0.

An iPhone 6 cannot update past iOS 12.5.5. You need a new phone.
