Stop sharing devices with family

Hello,

Today I created an iCloud family to share with my girlfriend.

When I looked in the Find my app I noticed that we share not only our iPhone locations (which we already did without iCloud family) but also the locations of all other devices connected to this Apple ID.

In settings I found that I'm able to stop sharing the locations of these devices, but I prefer to now see my girlfriends devices in my Find My app (and she doesn't want to see all my devices, because there are many 😂).

Is there a way to disable sharing all devices connected to an Apple ID while using iCloud family?

Dear Erica,

Thank you for thinking along!

Unfortunately this is not exactly what I mean.

My girlfriend and I were sharing our iPhone locations before we created an iCloud Family. When I created an iCloud family I noticed that in the Find My I still see her iPhone at 'People' but when I go to 'Devices' I now not only see my own devices, but also my girlfriend's. The article you mentioned describes how to stop sharing the location of one of your devices, but that doesn't remove the device from the list in the Find My app of the people in the family.

Quote:

" If you don't share your location, family members can’t access location information about your devices. Without location information, family members can still help you. They can check your missing device's online or offline status, play a sound on the device, put the device in Lost Mode, or remotely erase the device. "

Let me be clear, it isn't a problem. But I (and my girlfriend) prefer to only see my own devices in the list of Devices in the Find My app. I thought it should be possible to choose whether to see the devices of family members or not.
