Mission control shows three desktops, why?

As I was checking some issue, I noticed that when I used Mission Control, it shows THREE desktops. Literally Desktop 1, Desktop 2 and Desktop 3. I click on each one and I always get the same desktop with the same files. Does anybody have an idea if this is normal and if not, how to get rid of them. Thanks!
