Sent emails do not show in Mail (Sent email folder)

I saw an old post on this, but still haven't seen the answer; When I send an email with my icloud account, it gets sent, but there's no record of it in my Sent folder for that account, though if I log into the iCloud website, I see it there.

I just noticed this today, but there are no sent emails in my Sent folder now - not sure if they all got deleted, but seems strange.

I'm on an iMac (with the M1 chip - recently purchased), running OS Monterey.

I've checked my preferences and all seems correct. I should mention that I am seeing my sent mail messages in other accounts - just not my iCloud account.

Thanks in advance - Karl

Hi thanks for the reply - for my iCloud account email on my iPhone, sent messages do show up in that account’s Sent folder (the only other device that uses iCloud email)

though on my Mac, it still doesn’t have anything in the Sent folder - I have sent some test emails but none show up

Hey kta6,

Thanks for letting us know. We appreciate it!

If you haven't yet, let's try force quitting your Mail app by following the steps from here: How to force an app to quit on your Mac

Before you launch the Mail app again, hold down the left 'Shift' key and then click the Mail app to open it. This will help clear the app state to prevent any issues that could cause the Mail app to function unexpectedly.

If the issue persists, please restart your iMac and see if that makes a difference.

Keep us updated with the results!

Best regards.

Hello again - well, that didn't work. oh well. I tried your suggestions above, but still no messages in Sent for my iCloud account.

I also tried a few test emails from my computer and all accounts received them fine, but it still does not show in Sent (on my iMac - it does show in Sent when I check the iCloud account on my phone)

Would this somehow be related to the outgoing mail server on the Mac?

thanks again - Karl

Hey kta6,

We see that you're unable to see your sent emails through your iCloud email account, and we'd like to help!

You did a great job going through the steps of logging in to your iCloud account through the direct website, to check if you see it there. The good news is, your emails are properly being sent and it shows a record of it.

Do you have any other devices available that you can check to see if you can view your sent emails from your iCloud account? We want to further isolate the issue by making sure this is only happening with your iMac, and not with other devices as well.

Let us know how it goes!

Best regards.
