USB-C to USB Apple Adapter not fitting my USB dongle.

I recently bought 2 Apple USB-C to USB adapters and tried them on my mouse's wireless USB dongle.

The dongle itself is a USB and so one would think it would perfectly match the USB port, right? :( Apparently not. There was something that was blocking the USB to fit and that something appeared on both adapters. I tried different USBs to plug into the port but none of them slid in.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do something to the adapter to make my USBs fit in them or if I bought the wrong ones.

The Apple Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Keyboard feature a lightning port, not a USB-C port for recharging purposes. If you also purchased an Apple Magic Keyboard, it should have a USB-A to Lightning cable included with it which would work with your Magic Mouse 2. Plug the USB-A end of that cable into one of those Apple cables you purchased.
