Alarm sounding on iPhone instead of apple watch

Hi Apple,

I have my alarm set in sleep schedule. Most of the time it vibrates on my Apple Watch, as per the instructions above.

Over the past few months, randomly, the alarm will play through my iPhone instead of my watch. For example, last night I was wearing my watch, my phone was on charge and both devices were on silent, but the alarm started playing through my iPhone instead of my watch. I also have a couple of alarms set on my watch of a morning and these all worked fine.

Is there a setting that I’m missing to make the alarm play through my watch only? I’d like to have my phone remain silent and the alarm set in sleep schedule play on the watch only every morning it is set (weekdays).

Hello there MrForbes123,

Thanks for posting here on the Apple Support Communities! This is a place where other Apple users can submit questions or respond to others to help lend a hand. Let's take a closer look as we do our best to provide some additional insight.

To get started, did this only happen when an alarm that you originally set up on your iPhone? If so, does it work just fine with alarms created directly on the Apple Watch as mentioned here? Add an alarm on Apple Watch under the "Set an alarm on Apple Watch" section?

Certainly keep us posted, we’re here for you every step of the way!

Take care.
