Two-factor authentication: This will be hard for me (new phone) - esp AppleID
My very first smart phone will be an iPhone SE. (Not yet bought; am buying it thru Boost Mobile store.) I want it to work the same day I buy it. I am figuring out, in advance, what my issues will be. -- The toughest one will be two-factor authentication. I had some old AppleIDs but I can't get 'em to work, so I made a new AppleID. I did this on a Windows 10 desktop -- very recently-- not at home, but at a place where they let me use the desktop. It took hours to figure out AppleID & get a setup that didn't keep requiring new passwords. I never make a password unless I record it first! Just used the AppleID for 1st time on iCloud.com.
When I'm all set up, here's my hope for authentication. When I'm on the iPhone, my thumbprint or fingerprint will be one factor of authentication. The iPhone itself will be the other factor. But my old flip phone is dying soon, and I want to reuse its phone number. I expect the flip phone to die at the same time my new iPhone starts. Does this mean I have to set up yet another new AppleID & its password? And AppleIDs are often (if not always) one of my email addresses, so I may have to set up yet another email address.
