Creates a totally new account on the new computer. How can we can I transfer data without creating an entirely new account

Sorry to hear that you got started off on the wrong foot.


You needed to migrate during the new Mac’s initial setup in order to have a single user account. Plus it is faster and easier to migrate from your Time Machine backup than it is to migrate computer to computer.


If you migrated after the initial setup, then you have two options. 1) Erase the new Mac and then migrate from the old Mac or better it’s Time Machine backup. 2) Move the data into one user account and then delete the other.
