I have a 5th Generation iPAD, but the compatibility is with 6th Generation and up. Is that compatibility only with the charging? because I can charge it externally and not in the iPAD.
I am more concerned with the use of the pencil to draw on the IPAD.
An iPad 5th generation doesn't support any Apple Pencil, sorry. See this compatibility list:--> Apple Pencil compatibility - Apple Support
Perhaps you're referring to the operating system (iPadOS) version. Both models support the latest iPadOS 15.4.1 version, but not the Apple Pencil (available for iPad 6th generation only).
