Thank you for your prompt response. however the problem is that I have a two-step verification process with a phone number to which I have not access anymore, so the code goes to that phone number and I cannot fill the code. I know the Apple ID and the password , but I’m in a vicious loop without access to my old phone number.

See if anything here helps.  If necessary, you can use account recovery as explained in the link at bottom of the article.

Verification code - how to get one and sign in with two-factor authentication.   *

If you can get a code and sign in, you need to change/add the number on your Apple ID. Look in the Security section when signed in online. You may have to add the new number before you can remove the old number. After the change, allow up to 24 hours for the change to sync. Before trying to make the change, sign out of Messages/FaceTime on all devices/computers.

Apple ID - Manage

Do you have 2 Step Verification or 2 Factor Authentication enabled on your Apple ID? If the steps in the article didn't help, if you are using 2 Factor Authentication, you need to do the Account Recovery process. The Recovery Process is an automated process and the length of time it takes can vary a lot. Apple ID Support can only answer your questions. They can't intervene in or speed up the process. The article below has some suggestions to shorten the time the process takes.

The only way to reset it instantly is to remember the password and sign into your Apple ID.
