how do I install Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 to my Imac late 2012

Havent used the mac in a long time . The OS system is OSX version 10.9.5 I think the latest version my Imac will accept is OS Catalina 10.15.7. Any tips?

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, click here, and then on the download link for Catalina.

Catalina and newer won't run 32-bit software; download and use Go64 to scan for it. To look other programs up, click here.
