If I buy iCloud storage, will that add more storage space to the iPhone itself?

I would like to buy more storage for my iPhone. I want the storage to take more pictures. So would that be buying iCloud storage? Or just buying more iPhone storage? Is there a difference? The only option I'm seeing in settings is by purchasing iCloud storage... Thank you!!

You cannot buy more storage on the phone itself.

You can buy more iCloud storage. See: Upgrade to iCloud+ - Apple Support

You would also need to turn on iCloud Photos and also turn on the Optimize Storage option for iCloud Photos. See: Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support

The amount of storage on the device is physically locked in and permanent. If you pay for anything, it might be iCloud storage that can be used to offload photos and other data in the cloud. It can't be used for things like apps. If you offload apps to save on storage, they don't work unless downloaded again from the App Store.

If I buy iCloud storage, will that add more storage space to the iPhone itself?
