I've waited the few hours it took to download big sur, twice to update my macbook from high Sierra, however at the end of the download it didnt open any installer like it apparently is supposed to.What should i do?

Troubleshooting macOS Upgrades:
A. Try a Temporary User:
Create a new administrator (for temporary use), and then perform the upgrade.
B. IMPORTANT:
Create a backup your Mac prior to upgrading. That way, you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the upgrade.
