Ventura update prevents zoom from operating

Is anyone else having this problem? I have a 1 year old iMac for which I have just updated to Ventura MacOS. Since updating the in-built camera cuts out after 30 seconds with any apps that use the camera - Zoom, Teams, PhotoBooth or FaceTime. Spent a whole day on Saturday with Apple tech support and they have not figured it out. It cannot just be me. This only started after downloading Ventura - never had camera problems before.

My Zoom also became inoperable after I upgraded to Ventura. While the reinstall is the solution, the key to bringing back Zoom functionality for me was making certain that Zoom was given all access in the Privacy & Security settings. The install alone did not work without going to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility > Zoom and then turning the button on. I also needed to do the same under Camera

I hope this helps.

Yes, I have the problem, and so do many others on the Zoom site. Here is my solution:

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362983-Uninstalling-and-reinstalling-the-Zoom-application

  1. Right Click on Download Center, select Open in New Tab (it's easier this way)
  2. Depending on what version Zoom you have, follow the Uninstall instruction.
  3. Approve the uninstall and re-install.
  4. It will re-install a working version Zoom 5.12.8

Worked for me the first time. I think the original problem is with the Zoom update placing the update file in a place where MacOS does not approve for updating (it's not in the Download folder), it's probably somewhere that Google wants...
