I don’t know what to do. It has nothing to do with credentials. I put the email and password, get the verification code, put it in, get logged in briefly, then kicked out back to the sign in page. It is an old email that is not connected to any of my devices now. I need to access to this old iCloud because a verification code for an important account was sent to the email.

Sign Out of iCloud:
A. If you closed this Apple Account, then you cannot log out of it. It is the same ordeal as when you purchase a used device that the seller never signed out of.
B. If you still have this Apple Account opened, then contact Apple Support, ask them for assistance with changing this eMail address on this device to what it should be.
