how to upgrade ti Ventura

I have a Mac Book Air 2017.It says I can't upgrade due to a small HD??? I ordered it with a 512. I have well over 100gb available. My wife has a 2019 and a 256 HD and she did the upgrade to Venture

See the system requirements for MacBook Air— your 2017 does not qualify.
