If you use computers for any length of time you realize no Operating System is a perfect science.

 this does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, font cache, etc., third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled as a test environment. Reboot  as normal and test.  Caches get rebuilt automatically.

if you have an issue as is... de-select the automatically and compare your results.

From the command line you can re-sync time server if no resolve. From Terminal.app copy & paste:

sudo sntp -sS time.apple.com

note: your psswd will not echo on screen type it in anyway, use the enter\return key to proceed.
