Saved Emails disappeared

I have created numerous gmail mailboxes under my gmail account on my iPad, where I save vacation and other pertinent info, and when I open them, all the emails are gone. How do I fix this?

You would be best advised to access your email account via the Google Mail webmail portal - using a web browser from any computer. When signed-in, verify that your email and associated mailboxes are visible.

If your missing email messages/mailboxes are not accessible using webmail, they have been deleted from the Google Mail server. In such circumstances you’ll need to seek assistance from Google - as they may be able to recover your mail.

If your missing email messages/mailboxes are accessible using webmail, the easiest method to restore your mail on your iPad is to delete the offending mail account from the iPad - then force-restart the iPad.

Deleting a mail account from iPad settings is easy:

Settings > Mail > Accounts > [Your email account] > Delete Account

With the account deleted, you can restart your iPad:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

After restart, re-add the GMail account:
