Passcode expired message
I’ve just had a ‘passcode expired’ message appear on my iPad.
I’ve never seen this before so am concerned it’s an issue.
is this a result of a recent software update?
iPad Pro, iPadOS 16

Is your iPad centrally managed by an Educational establishment or a Business/Corporate? Devices that are configuration locked by an MDM platform can usually only be released from central management by the platform that manages the device. Be aware that Apple will not assist with removal of management profiles.
If an MDM profile is installed, it will control many aspects of your iPad’s settings and configuration - including, perhaps, a requirement to periodically change your iPad lock Passcode.
To comply with the applied Passcode policy, you simply need to change your device Passcode from iPad settings:
Settings > FaceID | TouchID & Passcode > Change Passcode
Unless you have the option to delete the profile from iPad Settings - if you wish to have the management policy changed - you’ll need to seek assistance directly from the System Administrator who manages the device.
