iPad Music Management
So in reality, to do any music management on your iPad Pro etc. and barring using Dropbox and such, the iPad always has to be connected to a computer or Mac using iTunes to sync the device, even though I have recorded music in my studio and stored the tracks on the iPad. I have to move the files via external drive to a computer, copy the files or move them to the computer, load em up in ITunes after I've created a Playlist on the iPad and stick the tracks I want to play with the Music app into that playlist first? Will there ever be a way to literally highlight the files in the Files app on the iPad and create a playlist within the iPad from those highlighted tracks?
It's so convoluted to do any music management at all with the iPad even under iPadOS 16.5 with always tying the iPad to a computer. I have to copy/move my tracks recorded and stored on my iPad to an external drive, connect external drive to my computer, move the files to a folder on my computer. Then connect the iPad to the computer, run iTunes, create a playlist on my iPad via iTunes and drag my recorded tracks that were originally recorded and stored on the iPad, so that I can now play those very same tracks for demos etc, with my iPad??
Absolutely insane!! i just bought another iPad Pro 12.9 256GB to do all my audio recording connected to my Yamaha MG12XU mixer since my desktop computer has died and the iPad literally has to be tied to a computer of some sort so I can now play all those tracks I recorded back on the iPad again!!! Since the iPad is still brand new I'm seriously considering returning it for a full refund and investing in a new Windows computer where everything can be done in one box. I love the iPad, it's great!! But this inexorable "must always be connected to a computer to sync music on your iPad" is crazy.
I do hope one day you can do all your music within the iPad without any external means needed.
