How to protect note titles from accidental deletion (notes on iPhone)?

I find that when I am deleting a number of items (typically in a grocery list) that the iPhone goes into word delete from character delete mode sometimes when I am not expecting it so goes much faster and on numerous occasions this has caused me to accidentally delete the title of the note. Is there a way to either

  • disable the transition from character delete to word delete so it will be slower
  • protect a piece of a note (the title in this case) so an extra step would be needed to delete it?

Right, I don't think so either. Apple are you listening?

No, Apple is not reading here in this user-to-user forum for feedback or suggestions. However, you can let them know your thoughts here:

I don’t think it’s possible.

Another way to manage your grocery list would be to use the Reminders application. In that application you can create a list (named “Groceries” for instance) and add elements to it. While shopping, you can mark/check the elements in that list as being done. The list does not disappear after you checked every element and you can add elements at any time.
