Hi, My iPhone has developed black lines that started as a few short pixels and now extend horizontally to a full line across the screen. These lines keep increasing very slowly and when they reach the edges, another line starts appearing above the existing one, getting thicker by every passing day.
What could be a solution to this issue?
Is it a hardware or a software issue?

I am also getting same issue from last one month. I am getting this after software updates done. Apple care here in India says its hardware issue and screen to be replaced. Its not acceptable.
It seems apple is intentionally creating these issues so that user will buy new phone.
Hi Myla, to be honest, I did nothing. The lines kept increasing for a few days and then they started receding just the same way as they appeared. It took some 2-3 weeks if I recollect. So keep watching the lines and see if they are receding.
I am not sure if this is the case with everyone.

Same issue it look like manufacture defect or done by apple itself after os update it happened on August 2024. Do you guys also seen on same time

It is completely disappeared now. It took 4-5 days.
Waste of $20
Lines caused by software would rotate when moving to landscape and back.
Hardware lines would be fixed.

This is a hardware issue, looks like your screen is starting to fail. You should get in touch with Apple Customer Service and they can help you figure out what can be done to get this corrected.

They are right. Screen needs replacing.
This just started on my iPhone 11 after I dropped it on a paved parking lot. I’m sure it’s the display and I’ll look into doing it myself. Kits on Amazon are $20 and up.
I am also facing this black lines on screen issue since 1 month. I changed my charger to 5 v charger. Still lines are progressing. Don’t know what to do.
