Hi, My iPhone has developed black lines that started as a few short pixels and now extend horizontally to a full line across the screen. These lines keep increasing very slowly and when they reach the edges, another line starts appearing above the existing one, getting thicker by every passing day.
What could be a solution to this issue?
Is it a hardware or a software issue?

are u still using that same phone? or you replaced the screen?
Yes. I still have the same phone and using it actively without any problem.
Time for any upgrade though as the battery needs replacement etc and the phone sometimes slows down.
So it’s advisable to wait…Thanks. In my case it was seen yesterday for the first time. It’s little less than an inch on right side of upper half. I upgraded to 18.1 today but no change.

I am observing the same. Firstly lines kept increasing and then they started receding. Just wanted to know whether lines got completely disappeared or these are still there?
Feeling lucky. It is vanished in about 4 days.
i have also face same issue after updated
A software update can exacerbate existing hardware weakness. Lines that disappear like those above were possibly caused by moisture.
