I have a brand new iPad Air 5th generation. I have been trying third party cases but none of them turn on or put my iPad to sleep when I open and close the case. I have the Auto Unlock settings turned on. They should work because I’ve seen videos of other people using them and my friends use them. What should I do?
Many cases include a cover to protect the screen when it is closed - and the covers often include a magnet to operate the iPad screen auto-lock function. The magnet and corresponding iPad sensor location may differ between models.
Unless the third-party case is explicitly designed for your iPad - and includes the required trigger magnet, the Auto Lock function won't work.

If you are having persistent difficulty in getting the Auto Lock function to work with cases from reputable major manufacturers of iPad cases, you might be well advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad and case(s):

To reiterate, many third-party cases will not trigger the Auto Lock function.
Ask the seller/manufacturer of the third party case for assistance.
So random third party cases will work? Do you know any decent ones? Because I’ve order a ton and none of them have worked. And the review videos will show the iPad turning on and off as well
