Bought used M1 MB Air, locked by previous owner's company

So I'm a dummy and bought a used macbook air on FB marketplace. To clean install the os, I did a wipe/erase everything install just in case. However, once I was at the re-install mac screen, I realized it was remote managed by the previous owner's employer (or worse) and now I have a bricked mac because I don't have their "sysman" login credentials. Is there a way to remove all of that and remove all mdm/remote management etc so I can just have a clean mac? Or do I need to contact the company? Please help, or this is a lesson hard learned. TIA

No, there is no way to remove it yourself. I would contact the company or the seller if I where you, but there is a chance that they won't remove the lock, and then it is a lesson hard learned indeed
