When I add my card it says I already have that payment method?

I’m having the same problem . My problem is , when I add my card it says I already have that payment method on file and then when I try to click on that payment method it just says “payment information” and says something in red .. I go to remove it to add it back again but like you said , if you have an active subscription you can’t . So I removed ALL my subscriptions and it still says there is one active .. I was assuming it was my iCloud+ for storage so I go to downgrade and it stays at the 2.99? Apple is starting to be a scam . Oh and when I add a different card , right away it tries to charge 17 for HBO but THEN I add 17 to my card and try to reuse that payment method AND IT STILL DOESNT WORK !!

Cancelled subscriptions remain active until they fully expire. The solution to not being able to remove a payment method is to add a new one, then delete the old one.


A message in red may indicated why the payment method failed.


To find out how to remove a payment method, and what to do if you can't remove your last payment method or use no payment method with your Apple ID, read this article --> Remove a payment method from your Apple ID - Apple Support

Ongoing subscriptions and Family Sharing organizers must always have a payment method present. To edit the cards used for those you may need to first add the new card and make it the primary payment method before removing the old card (see: If you need to change or update your Apple ID payment method - Apple Support ).
