update to iPadOS 17.0.1 has got my iPad Pro stuck

After updating my iPad Pro 11 inch (2018) to iPadOS 17.0.1, the message "Software Update: your iPad has been updated to iPadOS 17.0.1" remains on the screen and won't disappear after clicking OK. Touchscreen shows that OK is touched, but I can't do anything else I can't even unlock my iPad as I am requested to enter passcode. Nor I can force it to restart as I need to slide to power off...

Thank you all in advance for your support

If your iPad is unresponsive, connect your iPad to its Power Adapter and allow the iPad to charge. Then, while still connected to external power, try a forced-restart:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

My 2nd gen iPad Pro also failed after the iOS 17 update. It worked intermittently but kept getting stuck ina boot loop with the Apple logo. I have brought it into the Genius Bar and they offered to fix/replace it for $500. Are others having problems like these with the iPad Pro and the update? What happened to the authors iPad after he did a force restart which is like the very first thing that pops up on goggle to do. Any other ideas or any others with iPad Pro 11 2nd generation with this problem?
