I am constantly interrupted when I come near my Apple TV with this message. It’s driving me bonkers. Make it stop? Please?

Have you tried following the directions and indeed placed your iPhone near the TV in landscape orientation with the rear camera facing you?
Apparently you tried to set up FaceTime on your Apple TV and therefore triggered this request.

Yes, I have tried many times to do this. It won’t complete the connection, I get stuck waiting for it to connect (have left it up to 30 mins, no luck). Also tried restarting the phone and the Apple TV, nothing.

Your initial post’s screenshot appears to offer you two options: skip this step or disconnect.
I’m getting the same
pop up on my wife’s phone. It not on mine tho. I tried deleting the FT app on her phone. Can’t seem to delete it on Apple TV.
