All of the answers say the same thing.

SnapChat banned the device

Only SnapChat can remove the ban.

Apple is not involved with this in any way

  • Neither we, nor Apple, banned your device. Snapchat did.
  • Neither we, nor Apple, can unban it. Only Snapchat can.
  • According to Snapchat, "If your device has been banned, Snapchat Support cannot unban it for you."

You could try contacting Snapchat, and pleading for mercy, but it sounds to me like there's a good chance that Snapchat has banned your device forever.

I want Snapchat back that’s how I get ahold of my friends

Tell that to Snapchat when you contact them.

And just how would the original poster be able to help you, when they too are banned by Snapchat? This is what happens when you don't read past the first post of a thread. Had you done so, you'd see 7 pages of responses telling the ONLY way to get unbanned by Snapchat is to appeal the ban to them directly. Apple has nothing to with Snapchat. No one here on this forum or at Apple can help you. ONLY Snapchat can help you.

I am curious to know how a new phone is banned if its really new or is it just new to you? Snapchat often bans devices forever. If you bought a used phone, which is device banned, again only they can unban the device.

Do you mean "new", as you went to an Apple store or Apple authorized reseller (or website) and walked out with a phone in a new sealed box? Or do you mean it is a previously owned iPhone that is new to you?

SnapChat bans devices that have been used in violating their terms of use, regardless of who owns them. If this describes your situation return the phone for a refund.

If the phone is truly new, you must have violated SnapChat’s terms of use.

Snapchat is very strict about enforcing its Terms of Use. This link explains their procedures and enforcement strategy→My Snapchat Account is Locked.

Device change

If Snapchat banned you and your current phone, then as soon as they figure out that it is you trying to log in on a new phone, they will ban that one, too.

All they have to do is to keep hitting the "Ban" button – which s cheap. Whereas each time you try to evade their ban using a "device change" you will have to buy a new phone. Eventually you will run out of money – and you'll still be banned anyway.

How can I get out of this on my iPhone 12promax Due to repeated attempts or other suspicious activity, your access to Snapchat has been temporarily disabled. Support code: SS06

If you are lucky, the "temporarily" might mean that if you wait at least 48 hours, you can log in. When Snapchat issues SS06 device bans, those are often permanent.

But whatever they've decided to do as far as an account suspension or device ban, you're stuck with it. There is no magic way for you to force your way back in if they have issued a device ban – temporary or permanent. And trying to get around a temporary ban might even encourage them to turn it into a permanent one.

But basically, When Snapchat bans a user they also ban the device that was used to access Snapchat. If it wasn’t a permanent ban your account will be usable after the duration of the ban. Otherwise you will never be able to use Snapchat again from the device that was banned, and if you try to access it with the same account or information that can be associated with that account (such as name or phone number) from another device, that device will be banned also.

Android phone makers do not this to you. Nor does Apple do this to you.

Snapchat does this to you.

  • If they feel like it, they will ban your account whether you are logging in from an iPhone or from an Android phone.
  • If they think there is any chance that you will try to evade the account ban by creating new accounts, they will ban your iPhone or your Android phone as well as your account.
  • If you buy a used iPhone or a used Android phone, it may be "new" to you, but there is always the chance that Snapchat banned the device due to the actions of a previous owner, and will refuse to lift the ban for you. The ban might even be the reason that the seller is so eager to get rid of the phone.

If you want to be upset with someone, there's no point in being upset with Apple. They didn't put the ban on your account or on your phone.

If you feel like switching to Android anyway, do so. That is no skin off the nose of any fellow users here. Just don't be surprised if you find that if the reason you are switching to Android is to evade a Snapchat ban … that Snapchat bans your shiny new Android phone fast enough to make your head swim.

Dear Team,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to inform you of an issue I am facing with my Snapchat account. I am unable to open my account on the Snapchat app.

This is not Snapchat Support.

If Snapchat has banned your account or device, only Snapchat can unban you. We cannot. Apple cannot.

If you are hijacking this 17-page-long thread because you have some other problem with Snapchat, unrelated to their bans, you'll also need to take it up with Snapchat Support. We cannot fix problems with their service. They must do so.
