My wife's Lenovo PC uses Windows 10. I want my new MacStudio to have access to her files, as we did for years on my MacBook Pro, with Big Sur 11.7.10. We use the same wifi. It recognizes her PC in my finder under "networks," but won't show files.
To show files on ANY remote computer, you need to have presented credentials that would log you on the at the remote computer and give you at least Read access to the remote computer's files.
The dialog box for entering the credentials appears on your Mac, but the credentials required are the ones for the remote computer.
