My Documents folder was vanished from the iCloud drive and now all files are corrupted
Hi there! I actively sync my Desktop/Documents folder on iCloud since I bought this mac (macbook air M1) ,so I always had access for my files on my Iphone too (iPhone SE 3rd).
Suddenly, when I tried to upload my resume to a job application, that is on the Documents folder, popped up a message that the file is maybe corrupted. I didn't understand and tried to open the file directly on Finder. Now the tab of the Documents folder it says "Documents - local" and every file on it, including all folders and subfiles are now corrupted with 0b file size.
The worse is that the Documents folder was vanished form iCloud drive, there's nothing there besides de Desktop folder. I mean, that doesn't make any sense. I didn't change any configuration (aka System Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Drive > Options "Sync this mac" and "Desktop & documents folder" are active).
It seems that any backup of this mac was also vanished (or never existed I don't know), but I mean... Is that? I just lost everything? (including personal documentation, historical docs, financial receipts and etc). I don't understand and don't accept that something in the cloud was just... vanished, suddenly. That doesn't make any sense and now I don't know what to do.
At least the local Documents folder should be intact, right? But no... everything just vanished
