Apple Music crashes after the iOS 18 update

I updated to IOS 18 (worse decision ever) and now my apple music keeps constantly crashing. Even when I try to simply play a song it crashes. I pay for this service, and I expect it to work, so I expect a refund if this is not fixed soon. I also have around 10,000 synced songs from itunes just incase that might be a factor.

I contacted Apple support, and they advised me to reset all settings, which I did. Unfortunately, the issue still persists as you described. We're definitely losing our subscription money due to a problem we've never encountered before. I hope they release an update to fix this soon. I encourage everyone to reach out to Apple support and report any issues as they arise; this will help prioritize their fixing efforts.

Update to my previous post. I contacted Apple Support this morning via chat. The person I spoke with said the following about the issue, after I explained all of the troubleshooting I had done:

I was able to check on my resources and it appears Apple have already received multiple reports regarding the issue and its not currently under investigation. *I assume from the context of the following paragraph that he meant that the issue IS currently under investigation*

The results for the investigation may come through a new update release or a public article from Apple. For now, we advise that you keep the device up to date to get the latest features, security updates, and bug fixes

So, as someone else mentioned in a previous post on this thread, if you also encounter this problem, please contact Apple Support to get more eyes on it and hopefully they'll find a resolution soon.

I've had the same problems. Seems worse on my largest playlist (13k) songs. Searching within the playlist takes several minutes, if ever, before it will locate searched songs. Also just crashes randomly when using this specific playlist. Very long delays also when adding a song to this playlist, between the time you choose to add a song and when text appears indicating that the song already exists in the playlist - or when adding a song and receiving notification badge that the song has been successfully added.

These issues don't seem as bad with smaller playlists. Like you, this issue began immediately after updating to iOS 18. I deleted and reinstalled Apple Music app to troubleshoot and there was no improvement. Hoped there would be a fix in 18.0.1 but there has been no change. To my knowledge, there has never been a limit on number of songs in a given playlist. Apple needs to issue a statement or give the caveat somewhere if they can't fix their issue, resulting in a per-playlist song limit.

I run a social media group that requires me to have access to this large playlist, so I'll be moving on from Apple Music if it can't be resolved soon. As an aside/rant: Apple Music has a few decent Apple-generated playlists, but is garbage with visibility/searching user-created playlists, compared with Spotify, etc, but I'd still stay with them if they can fix this issue. I'd rather support a company like Apple that pays artists (slightly) better, but their product also has to work. Does anyone know how to contact Apple support about this? Is the only solution via phone? Thx
