Has anyone experienced issues with Apple Music in iOS 18? For example, audio quality lowered despite Dolby Atmos and EQ off? Or trying to scroll through your playlist and the app crashes?

Some iPhone models experienced performance issues due to memory allocation problems. The update addresses these issues, improving performance and stability across various devices.
Fixed slow downs and crashes for me.
I’ve also noticed that sometimes I can’t skip a song, or fast forward through a song by dragging on the time bar or by keeping the fast forward symbol pressed. I try but the song just goes back to where it was up to, which is a pain when it’s a 25 minute song by Yes or Pink Floyd which starts off great but then gets a bit monotonous.
Just wondering what those of you saying you can't sync are using? I can sync ok using iTunes on a Windows 11 laptop. I have to connect via a cable, they won't talk to each other via wifi (since pre iOS 18, I think it's a Windows 11 issue) because the replacements for iTunes (Apple Music and Apple Devices) were a waste of space, wiped all the music off my phone, wouldn't put it back on, froze, only seemed to want to copy music held on the Cloud (I think that's what it was hinting at?) and so on.
Okay songs and playlist are, knock on wood, presently working… but opening music back up this morning, all album and playlist art seems to have disappeared
EDIT: correction: tracks from the iTunes Store/Apple Music appear to have retained theirs, but art for tracks sourced from other sources like my own CD collection are gone at the moment.
That sounds like an issue with them and less with you honestly. You can’t control the errors in their diagnostic logs. You’re very patient with them because I know I would’ve been over it. The senior advisor on my case never even called back so I’m just waiting for this new update. Really appreciate you and everyone else letting me know their issues because I really felt I was going crazy when this started.
To anyone who has responded, promise I’m not ignoring anyone! There’s so many of us with issues that it’s incredible Apple won’t acknowledge what is going on. Really hope you all are able to get help on everything the best way possible!
I have a feeling I’ll be getting a similar experience if they call back Monday. I guess windows laptops aren’t syncing songs being uploaded to the cloud but I don’t know if MacBooks are having the same issue.
It is 10-5-2024. After updating to OS 15 on my iMac, I have been having trouble with instant crashes when I try to drag a song from one playlist to another, so dragging a song in a single playlist. It's really ridiculous.
This is even more disturbing: “the iPhone 16 Pro Max with 512 GB of space is turning into a buggy phone, with software to match.” I’m having my Apple Music problems with my iPhone12 and was actually thinking maybe I should bite the bullet and get a 16, but I just scratched that idea. I have always trusted Apple but this thread is discouraging.
Your situation is very similar to mine. I don’t use my HomePod enough to think about its functionality. But the cloud isn’t matching songs when songs that I upload don’t need to be matched when they’re not available on Apple Music to begin with. If you already knew the album you’re playing didn’t have bonus tracks and you bought a CD and wanted to upload the bonus tracks, the status should just say “uploaded”. The cloud trying to match something that can’t be matched is crazy.
Even before last update there’s something wrong in Apple Music especially the quality of the sound, if you compare Apple Music with YouTube just for example YouTube music will win hope they will fixed it soon cuz it’s a great app for music we can’t live without it:))
After updating to ios 18, had a couple of crashes but seems to be getting better. however, i cannot add songs to any playlist unless i edit the playlist and add them through search. at first i thought my playlist or library was too big but after clearing some room, it’s still a problem. i’ve been using apple music for about seven years and have never had a problem until now. any suggestions on how to fix this?
Since my update, my Kindle library on all of my devices, is a mess! Books I read years ago are popping up as new. I’m thinking I should delete the kindle app and reinstall, but I’m not that savvy with technology and don’t want to further fk things up
I cannot control music from multiple devices any longer when using airplay on my homepods. I used to be able to skip songs, change playlists and even control volume from either my iphone, watch or ipad. Not any more. Its absurd!
It’s crazy to be told they can’t use threads made for discussion as reference of issues arising with their system. I can understand without seeing the issue and replicating that it doesn’t leave much for them to reference but I doubt the board isn’t helpful at all.
It’d be easier for them to just admit they don’t know what to do right now and will be working vigorously to work on resolving than issue. You shouldn’t have to spend 1000+ on a MacBook to have functioning service with Apple Music. This thread also proves their own products are not working
properly either no matter what type of computer you have. I would rather they just admit this will take time than act like they know what to do.
