Had the same problem. iPhone 16 Pro Max connected to Apple Watch and Pioneer receiver in my car. Couldn’t even see any other Bluetooth devices. Tried standard Bluetooth fixes - didn’t work. Saw a video that suggested the following: Go to Settings - Screen Time - Content & Privacy Restrictions. Turned on and then off the Content & Privacy Restrictions slider. Now I can see Bluetooth devices that wouldn’t show up before…
My iphone16pro will not allow my hearing aids to pair by Bluetooth. I was told that the 16 has a software glitch. My audiologist went through some moves that Apple gave him to pair my aids. Only one was connected. I’m unable to talk on my phone unless paired. I’d like to know if Apple will get this fixed. If not, I’m going to return the 16 or keep it until fixed but require a loaner phone. It’s nonsense to think the directions given to me will pair my aids. What do they think I’ve been doing for one week over and over.
I was able to fix my Bluetooth problem mostly. It turned out that the blood pressure monitor paired with the iPhone and data was transferred, BUT THE IPHONE APP REPORTED THE SYNCHRONIZATION (PAIRING) FAILED.
Either the iPhone waits too long to respond, or it gives up too soon, and the BP app reports failure even though the data was transferred correctly.
The BP app connects over Bluetooth and seems to be working fine, it just reports failure to connect on every connection.
I'm having a similar issue with my iPhone 16 Pro using iOS 18. It doesn't find several of my bluetooth devices to pair with them (some do pair and work fine, but some don't). I've tried all of the suggestions that have been offered by other users here in the support community and on other websites, but nothing has worked to fix this problem. Several of my bluetooth devices are now useless because my iPhone won't pair with them. This is ridiculous that this has been going on for months and Apple has been unresponsive to users with this problem. Please fix this!
I'm having the same issues with my new 16 Pro. At first use, it connected, but the audio changed between the left and right ear and was inconsistent and aggravating. I disconnected and tried to reconnect, but it won't let me. Please help Apple!
I just upgraded as well to the 16 pro and I am having issues that will not connect to any of my speakers that I have. I've tried everything and I had the hardest time connecting it to my car finally got into work. What is going on?!!
Have Phonak hearing aids about one year old. Just upgraded to iphone 16+.
Hearing aids when paired with Phonak app appear in iphone bluetooth but cannot be designated as hearing aids and are not 'found' using accessibility > hearing devices.
If I don't pair with Phonak app but just pair in bluetooth I get the option in bluetooth settings to designate them as hearing aids but then can't use Phonak app to control the hearing aids.
Very disappointed that those of us with hearing impairments have been left ignored so Apple can promote earbuds as if they are real hearing aids.

Got a new 16pro yesterday and it has Bluetooth issues. I did notice it will find and connect to older Bluetooth devices. However, it will not connect to newer Bluetooth devices. Have tried every fix that I have found online, nothing works. Seems this has been a problem for awhile and Apple has done nothing. Any suggestions?
I am having the same problem. My one week old iPhone 16 will not pair up to my wireless headphones rendering them useless when I go out for walks or go the the gym. The phone does sync up to my Apple watch but that it is.My other wireless devices do not show up on the phone. It looks like these are buffering. Help.
Here we are in February of 2025. I haven't seen any fixes for the bluetooth issues with iPhone 16. I just purchased my 16 Pro Max on 2/1/25. Today, I tried to pair my Bowers Wilkens headphones, but can't. I've seen a msgs with suggestions, but nothing works. It connects to my 2023 Honda CRV, but it is slower than my old phone. My SE watch is paired too. From the msg's that I've seen, this is not a new problem. Do we have any news on when we should expect a fix?
This is driving me crazy, I have reset network settings and still doesn't connect to my car. It pairs fine but won't reconnect the next time I get in. My 13 pro max was solid, this 16 pro max is rubbish.
Apple! I just got the 16 pro max and it’s not connecting Bluetooth to my car at all. It’s glitching as if it wants to connect but will not find my car. Guess I should have done proper research or look at the reviews. Please fix it!!!

I'm having a similar issue with my iPhone 16 Pro Max using iOS 18.4 (had the same with previous iOS versions as week). It pairs and work fine with all my headphones and Huawei watch, but can't work with both head-units of my cars. It’s able to find it and looks like it pairs, but it works only as headset. So I can receive calls, but I cant make them using head-unit or steering wheel buttons. It’s always falls back with sync error of recent calls and contacts. In the profiles of my cars I see only empty device type field and none of signs for syncing recent and contacts, like it was before. I've tried all of the suggestions that have been offered by other users here in the support community and on other websites, but nothing has worked to fix this problem. Both of my headunits of my cars are now useless because my iPhone won't work with them properly. This is ridiculous that this has been going on for months and Apple has been unresponsive to users with this problem.
Please fix this!
While my new iPhone 16 Pro Max had no problems at all with connecting to my car’s Bluetooth, it has not been able to connect to my Sony headphones or my Notabrick speaker. I followed all of the steps and NOTHING. When I go into Settings/Bluetooth I get the perpetually spinning pinwheel of doom as my iPhone struggles to find those pesky and elusive “OTHER DEVICES.”
I may not have many devices to pair up, and it’s really disappointing that the 2 devices I’ve been trying to pair up are now pretty much unusable.
Mind you, I had NONE of this difficulty at all with my previous iPhone 13 Pro Max. Bluetooth pairing on all of my devices was easy peasy.
