It feels like the 16 pro drains battery like crazy. Mine has gone from 95% to 81% in 38 minutes of light use and some picture taking. Phone also gets really hot when using the camera!
Anyone else experiencing this?
iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18
I got my phone on Monday 30th September (delivered at nearly 9pm) and it took me until the following day to transfer everything from my 14 Pro Max, so I didn't start using it properly until Tuesday 1st October. For 2 days, I experienced this issue (excessive battery drain) and I became particularly annoyed because my phone was seemingly permanently attached to a charger and the battery percentage wasn't going up. As of last night I was considering sending it back as other posts on here suggested that Apple support was reporting no issues with the phones even though almost everyone was experiencing the same fault.
I did notice that there is a software update available - and although it is just 18.0 by all accounts this update is just for new iPhone 16's (all variances). It says it's a security update but once installed, my battery life is significantly better - to the extent that at nearly 11.30am, it's at 91% and I've used it for work calls; listening to an audio book for 30 minutes and playing some games since 6.30am when I took it off a normal overnight charge.
Maybe it was the update or maybe something else (although I didn't do or change anything else in my normal phone usage/routine) but the battery drain issue seems to have been resolved.
16 pro just one month old and the battery is draining isn’t this phone supposed to be giving a better battery life? . Within an hour from 99 percent to 54.
Yes, if a third party app tries to access the camera and fails, the app could stick in an endless loop trying forever to access the camera.
Same. How do you fix this? I was expecting a similar battery performance coming from the 11 Pro Max, but no, the battery is draining much more significantly... I lose about 60% of battery with 4-5 hours of light use. Could this be because of IOS 18? Or is it the iPhone itself? Apple, we need a response asap.
my iphone 16 pro battery is draining soo quickly 80% to 20% within 3 hours is there any solution to solve this draining issue in 16 pro series and now i charged 80 percentage but within 34min it cane to 72% plss give any solution for the battery issue
16 pro lags, has typing issues on keyboard and has already frozen the screen with a compromised iCloud account, quickly draining battery with AI although it’s not released … Apple you dropped the ball with the compromised esims and second party authentication process. This has been going on for months. Snuggling got it resolved , nope not yet
Exact the same thing on my wifes device. I took her old iphone 14 pro. She says she wants it back and she hates the 16pro . She says it is worse battery wise than her two old iphone 14pro. What the is going on apple?

Never used that feature on the iphone. Its not that. But it is laufgable that an Iphone 14pro with only 88% battery life drains slower than a brend new iphone 16pro with a 100 healthy battery and more capacity. What is going on. Why is apple not answering?

I am experiencing battery from day one 1% battery drains in just 4 mins while using it if i don't use my phone still the battery will drain by 2% its really disappointing. I hope it should get fixed as soon as possible
Today I first day using iPhone 16 pro. my battery so fast draining till 89% now. Compare with my honor pro still maintain 99%.. haih.. very disappointing.. I m waiting so long for this iPhone, but now show me this result. ****
Bought just now and battery draining within 4 hours. Horrible first time experience. Please fix this.
Will monitor for 2 days and if it’s not working then return and get any 14 or 15 pros

Hi , even I’m facing the same issue ,I got it 2 days back n I just used it normally today to see the performance and the way battery drained is crazy ,my iPhone XR is comparatively has better performance considering its 5 years old !! this is shocking, what can I do ? What’s the solution for this?
Absolutely not working. I've been checking any possible setting, waiting 12 days, been to the Genius Bar... my old 11 pro with 68% battery is still lasting the same as the new 16 pro. They're gonna come out with some excuse eventually and declare that some lots suffered from production flaws... as usual.
I'm also experiencing the same faster battery draining issue with my newly bought 16 pro Max. Whether my last Iphone 13 Pro max was 78% battery life but still that could support day long heavy use. But my new 16 Pro Max drains the battery like tornado with its 100% battery life, without operating any heavy task. Why Apple is not answering till now regarding this battery drain issue? I am very upset. I shouldn't trade-in my last 13 Pro Max with this silly battery life - iphone 16 Pro Max.

I do think that it’s just not right that disabling Siri be a solution for a 16 pro phone, especially when Apple intelligence has just been launched and something that they’re promoting. The 16 pro phone should be well equipped out of the box to perform well with Apple intelligence, and yet… so disappointing…
It only seems to do so at certain times I haven’t picked up on exactly what it is. It could be causing it, but my first thought is to put it off on some sort of software issue..
