iPhone 16 Pro Max Screen Occasionally Displays Glitch Lines

This is exactly why I’m not bringing my phone into Apple. They don’t know what’s going on yet, so techs are going to start with a wipe and I have no interest in starting over.

Patiently waiting for “glitch-gate” to become more mainstream so Apple addresses this problem publicly.

Same thing here, got my iPhone 16 pro max a week ago and it’s very laggy and glitchy. Supposed to take it to apple tomorrow, ans I’m hesitating now that I’m reading y’all comments. Should maybe wait for the 18.1 update, maybe it’ll fix everything

I have purchased my phone last week and have also faced this issue 3 times. Unfortunately it’s random and I can’t reproduce it. Took it to Genius Bar but they mentioned there’s no issue with the phone. Now I don’t know whether it’s hardware or software issue and if I need to replace my phone .

I just received mine in the mail brand new yesterday. Once it did the update after transferring everything from my old phone I can’t even put in my passcode. Also, the phone won’t do a hard reset with button combinations. I’m stuck on the hello screen and it won’t even let me restart it. The screen flashes past the pass code entry right back to the hello screen. I talked to Apple Support and they said I have to take it to Best Buy as an authorized place to work on Apple devices. I’m hoping this will fix my issue considering I can’t even use the phone. It sure has been one expensive paper weight up to this point.

Leider habe ich dieses Problem auch nach dem IOS Update 18.1 noch immer. Ich bin hier etwas überrascht, dass es kein aussagekräftiges Statement von Apple gibt. Es gibt ja hierzu einige Eintragungen mit dem gleichen Problem. Da ich zum ersten mal ein solches Problem mit dem I phone 16 pro max habe ist für mich die Frage, ob hier noch gehandelt wird.

I’ve got the same phone and I get that glitching issue every time I go to use my phone from always on. I thought my phone could have a dodgy display connector but it doesn’t appear any other time. I’m hoping it’s just a glitch they can fix and not a bad batch of 512gb models because as for most I don’t have time to go to apple and get it fixed nor go without a phone

Small detail that I’ve noticed maybe is worth pointing out.

I’m not sure if it is coincidence but the last 3 occasions that have happened to me on my phone has been when I was inside a car.

Other uses have said how it might be related with automatic brightness and maybe I see why?

since when you are inside a moving car the lighting slightly changes inside specially at night with street lights and traffic, but it has also happened during the daytime with cloudy weather where lighting is almost never changing.

it has happened to me also in a concert with lighting changing all the time.

I don't know, I don't understand. I'm on the weekend now and this hasn't happened. I also noticed that this happens more often when notifications come.

I hate iphone 16 now. Its so annoying. Cant even type correctly and keep missing words. I have to type it very slowly to keep my words correctly. I called apple support and didnt help anything. I went to the store, they took off my screen protector and told me to buy one from them which is $40. Thats ridiculous! I had ip13 with no problem with any screen protectors. I hope apple can help this problem soon bc im so frustrated and I paid too much on the phone too 😡

Same issue here! I bought new brand iPhone 16 pro max last week and I noticed this problem on the display when I unlock the phone and sometimes in some apps but it happens randomly. I noticed also a ,, animation when I switch from the widget page to the main page. It seems like the refresh rate is lower than 120 hz.

I am with iOS 18.2

I hope it could be a software bug and not hardware.

Unfortunately, the same problem. Glitching lines appear for a second after unlocking iPhone using Always on display.

What is annoying, that you even don’t understand, is that problem massive or not. And you don’t even have an idea, can you easily change your phone to a new one or not.

because it seems like changing the phone in stores doesn’t help.

and what is even more annoying, the fact that this problem is so old, but still exists and will exist in the future updates.

You buy the highest price iPhone and have the highest range of problems.

I'm experiencing the same problem here. My iPhone 16 Pro Max is randomly experiencing screen glitching sometimes, and I don't know what caused it. I bought this phone brand new and haven't dropped it since I first purchased it.

So should we all go and change our iphones? Because somebody wrote that replacement did not help and the new iphone was with the same problem. Did you show the problem when you were in the Apple Store? Does Apple know about this problem?

I purchased on the 15th of October 2024 and November it started showing me same glitch, I chatted with apple representative and discussed over call to one if them the same they started saying its something to do with my icloud space etc. I was using IPhone 6plus for past 8years and I never had any issues. This is something with the software I feel like iPhone has become a joke now.

My iphone 16 pro max is also showing very occasionally glitch lines . Its just one month old. I am worried as in its a display issue or software bug? Or is it because of always on display? Kindly help
