Yes! settings—>sound/haptics—>vol limit def worked! Thank you whoever suggested that. My iPhone 16 is still kinda loud but def better than what it was. lol. I’ll take it. Appreciate you 🫶🏼

I upgraded from an iPhone XS Max to an iPhone 16 and I have the same problem, if I put my finger on the lowest volume on the volume screen (where a low volume sign just appears), any playback from Music App, YouTube App, BBC Sounds App for example, the minimum volume is very high.

I really hope this can be fixed with a software update and Apple Inc does it, I use the low volume a lot and now it's very high on the minimum volume, I really have difficulty with this situation.

On older editions of the iPhone, you could control you minimum and maximum volume, they need to add that back, so people who have hearing that goes both ways can have a functioning phone. Also you added nothing to this conversation.

Just in case everyone is trying this and it’s not working, it’s not just you! (I thought it was just me thinking it was still too loud) Even if you manually adjust the volume by using the slider and not the buttons, the lowest setting is still louder than any other iPhone. Manually adjusting it on the screen helps, but unfortunately it still doesn’t fix the problem.

I suspect you haven’t used previous iPhones before. With the older models, you could adjust the volume to a really subtle level by dragging the slider, which was perfect for watching videos late at night without disturbing my wife. But with the 16 Pro Max, even when you drag the volume all the way down, it’s still almost as loud as the lowest setting using the buttons—it’s way too loud. It’s practically unusable at night.

I have never felt the need to complain about anything on my iphones before. But with this minimum volume being SO loud, i can no longer use my phone at night with volume on - without headphones.

It disturbes my wife and even myself.

Some apps make it worse though, i think netflix only supports incrementing volume level in a larger scale, the app has no sound when i slide near 1% volume, but sudde ly becomes loud at x %

You fixed it! Douglas2755 thank you! This was driving me crazy. I had no idea I could adjust this in the Control Centre - (I thought it was just the same volume setting). So I slid it down as low as it could go - it was set at maybe 3 or 4 - and now my minimum volume is back to what it was before I bought this IPhone 16Pro. And I can listen to my sleep mediations as before :)

Fix this apple my previous iPhone 14 Pro Max volume was perfect, now the 16 pro max volume even at 1 tiny pixel in control center is way too loud.

The 1% volume on the iPhone 16 is extremely loud. When I’m in bed at night even my phone at 1% volume will still wake people up. Can we get an update to fix this PLEASE!?

This is a serious H&S issue which needs to be fixed immediately. The minimum volume is too loud on the iPhone 14 also.

It goes from muted between 1% and 5% and too loud with headphones at night at 6%. I need a quieter minimum too!!

So glad I’m not the only one with this issue on the iPhone 16 I thought I had broken it when fixing my volume for alarms.

I hope it is something they can fix as it’s super fidgety trying to make it as quiet as possible on the slider bar each time.

Same issue here. It really drives users crazy when Apple redesigned something and made it worse than it used to be. The volume is one thing; how about the redesigned apple photos? It is way worse than it used to be.
